Alternative Health and Nigerian Government

The practice of Traditional, complementary and Alternative medicine is taking a new turn with the Nigerian Government establishing a department for it out of the Government Ministry Department and Agencies (MDA). The department was approved by the head of Service in April 2018 and commences operation fully in July 2018. We could wish the department i.e. Tradition, Complementary and Alternative Medicine Department (TCAMD) a happy 5 years anniversary. The department carries the vision of seeing the practice of Traditional, complementary and Alternative medicine in Nigeria become a respected mode of treatment. It seeks to preserve our cultural heritage with respectable practitioners and providers. It seeks to deliver quality healthcare to all Nigerians through its practice and benefiting from its economic potential. The department is divided into four division which are: Traditional Medicine Practice (TMP), Complementary and Alternative Medicines Practice (CAMP),  Herbal product...

Assaulting a minor and Baba Ijesha Jail Sentence

We all know this blog is not a gossip blog but we talk about holistic or as some call it alternative health which addresses several part of the patient participating in the healing process- physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and the rest of it. A person needs to be well in all these accept to be wholly well. It has become a popular cliche in this blog the definition of health by the WHO, health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well being not just the absence of disease and infirmity. We should remember the incident of this Nollywood actor who was catch trying to molest a 14 years old minor. His name is Olanrewaju James alias baba Ijesha. He has been convicted of rape and sentence to 16years imprisonment. I just wanted to give the little gist, let the gossip guys go do their work, let's dwell a little on the health consequences of the act. If he had succeeded in putting the young 14years old girl child into family way, he risk the chances of th...

Bestility Health consequencies and Laws

The mind is getting reprobate as the year goes by, I woke up this morning after doing my reading before even saying my prayers and reading my bible then I started seeing sex of animals with humans going viral on whatsapp social media app (status update to be precise). I had to mute the first person because clearly I know she's less concern about her image, so she can go out to put whatever on social media. Then started seeing it on different post and I thought as someone who promote alternative health in Nigeria, it is important I post something about it, and remind us of some of the laws of this act in other jurisdiction and  the health consequences. Bestiality is simply having sexual intercourse with an animal. Irrespective of the animal, be it dogs, cat, horse, pig, goat etc. having sex with something alive that is not a person is bestiality and it's illegal and harmful to both parties. Bestiality is punishable by death in the early modern period. Sweden executed 700 peopl...

GTBank Demand pull stress.

GTBank is a well know bank with the full meaning of its popular abbreviation GTBank as Guarantee Trust Bank. As a customer to the bank, I am one of its many customers who gave them my trust but not sure if it is guaranteed as before. We enjoyed benefits like zero account, some interest on our savings monthly; no matter how little, giving us a sense of  satisfaction. Now, the reverse is the case for interest; instead of giving interest, they extort from customers in the name of SMS charges and transfer charges. If after compiling the money lost monthly to these charges, it adds to the stress one experience daily. We are discussing stress and looking at the demand pull rise in stress level caused by GTBank. If you are a little active on social media, you would have noticed GTBank trends, They are not trending because they did a laudable Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) but because of there outrageous charges on transfer and sms transaction. People are looking for ways to r...

PTSD symptoms of cheating (Will Smith actions at the Oscars).

The Men in Black American Hollywood actor Will Smith reacted over Chris Rock's jokes towards his wife. Not minding the camera or the nature of the show being air (twas an Oscar award night). He matched to the stage and slapped Chris Rock. Got back to his seat and yelled, "get my wife's name off your f*cking mouth" . We shouldn't quickly forget that Jada Pinkett Smith, (Will Smith's wife) use to date Tupac and she is emotionally attached to him even when he's dead. We really do not want to discuss if the marriage is a good marriage or bad marriage, but whatever it is, they've been together for more than 23 or more years and counting. The rumor behind Jada and August Alsina is another reason I quickly need to explain my own take on cheating. Will Smith marriage is blessed with two children (adult children of 24 and 19 or so years). Will Smith started dating her (Jada) after he divorced his first wife which had his eldest son. Jada didn't want to marr...

Conscious eating

As one develops, one crave for food and always wants to eat in order to grow, normal growing children need nutrition and just take what his or her guardian feeds him or her with, not conscious of what comes in to the body. But the mind is divided into two, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind accept everything be it good or bad. The conscious mind choose what to take in based on the human senses. The body has 5 senses that feeds the conscious mind, the sense of sight, the sense of touch, the sense of taste, the sense of hearing and the sense of smell. The conscious mind can distinguish negative sense from positive sense. Bad smell from a good smell, bad taste (bitter taste) from a sweet taste etc. The guardian of the toddler program into the memory of the child consciously or subconsciously what he or she decides as good food. Bitter leaf would start becoming sweet when one eats it when it is programmed to be food subconsciously or consciously to a t...

ASUU strike and Mental health

ASUU is an acronym that stands for Academic Staff Union of Universities. They are the Labour Union that decides strikes actions for Academic Staff of Nigeria universities. There strike action is so prolonged that it has attracted the whole world to the country Nigeria. Watching to seeing what the government is trying to engage there productive youth into; knowing, "An Idle man, is the devil's workshop". It is important I use this platform to tell the world that not all Nigerian Federal Universities have the Labour Union ASUU. I wrote in one of Our blogs  Alternative Federal University   The characteristics of the University, just to iterate a little, the name of the University is the National Open University of Nigeria and it is scattered all around the 36 states of Nigeria. One could read about it in the link provided above. Our focus today is not to debate if one is taking side with the Union or the government but to look at the mental health of most of the students wh...

International women day (A gift to your women)

The international day of women was celebrated two days ago the 8 of March and I must say, women are really trying to bridge the gap between the role of men and women in the society. We see women that take Jobs that we literally termed as a man's Job. Women riding tricycle, motorcycle, taxi in the name of Uber and even the normal cab taxi, women aren't shying away from that. They have proven what a man can do, a woman can do better. I really want to give it up for the single mothers and widows who has taken up the responsibilities of what husband's are wired to do. I always believe they are roles that comes naturally to a man in a marriage relationship. Roles like leadership, provision, protections and in religion, a priest. Just for easy, if you are in Africa, please marry a man you share the same religious faith with. Gender equality and freedom of right haven't been sealed in Africa  But not with standing, if women wins the battle of taking over the role of a man in ...
