Blogging and the Chinese Bamboo

The Chinese Bamboo starts its life as a seed like every other plant. It has to be planted on a good soil, watered and exposed to sunlight. The farmer who planted it, is full of hope that the bamboo would be the source of his livelihood. Struggling to keep his family, he kept hope alive and kept  going to water his bamboo seeds. The first year, there was no sign of growth, non of the seeds sprouted yet he continued to nurture and tending it. People would mock him saying why is he engaging in such fruitless journey of hope to success. But the farmer was still hopeful and consistent in the chase for success. The second year goes still no sign of growth. He still kept diligently tending and looking for other means for his family to survive so goes the third year. On the fourth year, the bamboo sprouted, hope was rekindled people who mocked him saw it as a miracle. The bamboo grew 80ft in 6 weeks. His dreams finally came through after 4 years.

Linda Ikeji a blogger net worth $3.2 Billion

Rising  as a blogger is more like the story of the Chinese Bamboo. One start out by getting a domain some is paid some get a free sub-domain from its hosting server. One now go into renting a server to host ones content (still paid or free) some servers enable one to install plugins that helps generate content but I prefer one writing his/her content themselves. Then one have to apply to advertising agencies (ads agencies), some starts showing ads automatically on ones blog but the big one which is google Adsense take weeks to get approved. Some has taken that as a services they provide. If one is lucky, one starts getting ads served by google. By people viewing those ads and clicking on it through the traffic one provides, one starts earning. Thinking this is over, when one reaches a threshold of $10, google would want to verify ones address by sending one a pin via a letter mail. This would take weeks. If one doesn’t get the mail after a month, google stops serving them ads. But they are other ways of getting your pin verified. Would leave that for those who offer such services. Then one continues  to place content to attract traffic to their site and don’t want to make it boring. If ones content is rock solid and digital marketing is top notch then one is sure of some cash rolling into their pulse. Then one is expected to wait till the cash reaches a threshold of a hundred dollar before one could  cash out. But one is free to choose his or her payment method after pin verification.

The story sounds so simple. Getting the number of traffic to hit the threshold of $100 could take years but we have people who provide services to help one reduce the days of their earning. If one decides to cut corners, by self clicks or not playing by the rules one could be out of the game of blogging for good or start all over again

Understanding CPR: A Lifesaving Skill Everyone Should Learn

The tragic passing of popular Nigerian actor John Paul Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope, in April 2024, serves as a stark reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness and the life-saving skill of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Junior Pope's untimely death, reportedly due to drowning while returning from a movie shoot, highlights a critical need for greater awareness and training in CPR across Nigeria. While initial reports suggested he was resuscitated, this incident underscores a vital point: effective CPR can mean the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, many people in Nigeria lack the knowledge and training necessary to perform this life-saving technique.   What is CPR? CPR is a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths aimed at restoring blood flow and oxygen to the brain and vital organs when someone's heartbeat has stopped or they have stopped breathing. It is crucial in various emergencies, not just drowning but also in cases of cardia...
