Electrolyte Imbalance

The body needs electricity to function properly. Electrolytes are mobile free ion that carries electric current in molten stage. From our little knowledge of the process of electrolysis, we know direct current is produced within electrode when they are connected in a solution having electrolyte which could either be a cation (positive charge) or anion (negative charge). Electrolysis is called a decomposition process, but we are not here to discuss electrolysis but to talk about electrolyte imbalance.

Electric current is essential for the body to function and what provides this are called electrolytes. These ions include potassium, sodium, calcium, bicarbonate etc. This electrolytes interacts with the cells in the tissues, muscles, and nerves. Good fruits and vegetable could be a good source of this electrolyte. The balance of these electrolytes are of great essence because The symptoms of electrolyte imbalance can include twitching, weakness and, if unchecked, seizures and heart rhythm disturbances. Older adult are more at risk if they suffer electrolyte imbalance. Electrolyte regulate nerve and muscle function, hydrate the body, balance blood acidity and pressure, and help rebuild damaged tissue. The muscles and neurons are sometimes referred to as the "electric tissues" of the body. They rely on the movement of electrolytes through the fluid inside, outside, or between cells.

Sometimes the electrolyte in the body could be high or low which leads to imbalance.  These changes could be as a result of water level in the body and other factors. Water is good for the body but as the saying goes, too much of everything  is not good. Water could dilute the electrolyte in the body making the ions low If one have issues with low electrolyte, instead of taking water, try coconut water it could help boost some of the electrolyte like potassium because these electrolytes must be replaced to create balance for a healthy body. If the ions (electrolyte) is too high, the kidney filters it to help create balance. The most common imbalance is sodium and potassium. One of TCM best supplement to help replace these electrolytes is TASLY Cen forte Tab. With good functioning kidneys, high electrolytes would be balanced. To stay healthy, taking good nutrition or supplement would make one not run out of electrolytes for balance.

Can regular drinking of carbonated "Soda water" increase the ions electrolytes in the body?

Happy day folks and fellas 😊

This blog post explores the surprising connection between elephant dung, mosquito control, and the fight against malaria, with a focus on how it relates to Nigeria's ongoing battle with this deadly disease. Elephant Dung: A Hidden Medicinal Treasure? Elephant dung, despite its unappealing nature, has been used in some African cultures for a variety of medicinal purposes. The dung of these majestic creatures is rich in plant materials, which can sometimes possess antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Indigenous knowledge has often highlighted the use of dung for its supposed ability to treat wounds, improve digestive health, and even act a...

PrEP vs. Other HIV Prevention Strategies: Education, Condom Use, and Behavioral Choices

While Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a highly effective pharmaceutical approach to preventing HIV, it is important to recognize that there are other methods of prevention that can work in tandem or serve as alternatives. These include education, consistent condom use, monogamy, avoiding unprotected sex, and abstinence. Each method has its own benefits and drawbacks, and understanding how they compare can help individuals make more informed choices about their sexual health.   1. Education and Awareness: The Foundation of Prevention Education plays a critical role in preventing the spread of HIV. Knowledge about how HIV is transmitted, the risks of unprotected sex, and the importance of using preventive measures like condoms can significantly reduce the likelihood of infection. Programs that focus on safe sexual practices —including correct condom use, understanding HIV status, and avoiding high-risk behaviors—are essential components of a comprehensive HIV prevention strategy. ...

The Benefits of False Unicorn Root for Enhanced Reproductive Health

Maternal mortality remains a critical public health issue in Nigeria, where thousands of women lose their lives during childbirth due to preventable complications. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria accounts for nearly 20% of global maternal deaths, with an estimated 512 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births as of recent reports.
